This article aims to explore the concept of zikr in the Qur'an through a maudhu'i or thematic interpretation approach by examining in depth the meaning, context, and ethical implications of the concept. Zikr is commonly understood as a verbal activity in the form of repeating the name of Allah, whereas in the Qur'an it has a much broader dimension. This article seeks to reveal the spiritual, ethical, and social praxis dimensions of zikr in the Qur'an through an analysis of verses containing the root word dzikr and its derivatives. The method used is qualitative research with a thematic interpretation approach, collecting, classifying, and analysing relevant verses, as well as comparing the views of classical exegetes such as al-Ṭabarī, Ibn Kathīr, and al-Qurṭubī with contemporary exegetes such as Sayyid Quṭb, Muhammad Asad, and Wahbah al-Zuḥaylī. The results of the study show that zikr in the Qur'an is not merely a verbal ritual activity, but a transcendental awareness that gives rise to ethical behaviour and social responsibility. Zikr is a path to tazkiyah an-nafs (purification of the soul) and strengthening the spiritual relationship between humans and Allah, while also motivating humans to be fair, empathetic, and contribute to social life. Thus, Qur'anic zikr is an integral concept that connects the inner, moral, and social dimensions within the framework of tawhid.
