Respecting parents is one of the primary duties for every servant of Allah SWT, second only to worshiping Him. The Qur’an emphasizes the rights of parents and the proper ways to serve them through various verses, including acts of kindness, speaking politely, showing humility, praying for them, and understanding the limits of obedience when parental commands contradict Allah’s directives. This article employs a thematic tafsir approach to examine Qur’anic verses related to honoring parents, including Surah Al-Baqarah (2:83), An-Nisa’ (4:36), Al-An’am (6:151), Al-Isra’ (17:23-24), Al-Ankabut (29:8), Al-Ahqaf (46:15), Luqman (31:14-15), Ibrahim (14:41), Asy-Syu’ara’ (26:86), and Nuh (71:28). The thematic analysis highlights that respecting parents encompasses not only physical actions but also attitudes, speech, prayers, humility, and self-restraint, all aimed at fostering harmonious parent-child relationships while drawing closer to Allah SWT
