Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that accounting learning on general journal material is still often carried out conventionally so that students are less active and experience difficulties in analyzing transactions, which impacts low learning outcomes. The research gap arises from the lack of studies that specifically measure the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Student Worksheets (LKPD) in improving accounting learning outcomes, especially in the ability to record transactions into general journals in high school students. This study aims to describe student learning outcomes after the implementation of PBL using a quantitative descriptive approach. The research subjects consisted of 39 students of class XI.8 of SMA Negeri 15 Palembang, with data obtained through LKPD value documentation and analyzed using descriptive statistics in the form of averages, learning completeness, and distribution of value categories. The results of the study indicate that PBL assisted by LKPD has a positive influence on student understanding, indicated by an average value of 90.90 and a completeness level of 82.05%. A total of 79.49% of students are in the very good category, and there are no students in the poor category. These findings confirm that PBL can improve transaction analysis skills, account selection accuracy, and systematic general journal preparation. Therefore, PBL, assisted by student worksheets, is an effective alternative learning model to improve the quality of accounting learning outcomes
