Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between physical appearance-based bullying behavior and students' learning motivation. The study used a correlational quantitative approach with a sample of 30 students of grade XI of SMA Tri Dharma Palembang. Data were collected through a 4-point Likert scale questionnaire which included strongly agree, agree, disagree, strongly disagree. Data analysis used the Pearson Product Moment correlation test. The results showed that there was a significant negative relationship between physical appearance-based bullying behavior and students' learning motivation (r = -0.45, p <0.05), meaning that the higher the physical appearance-based bullying behavior experienced by students, the lower their learning motivation. The conclusion of this study is that physical appearance-based bullying behavior has an effect on decreasing students' learning motivation, so that efforts to prevent bullying in the school environment are needed systematically and continuously
