PAIN OF PAYING DAN KEUANGAN DIGITAL: SUATU STUDI LITERATUR
Keywords:
Finance, Behavior, Consumption, DigitalAbstract
Pain of paying emerged as a construct to explain why the subjective cost of payment can reduce consumption pleasure and discipline spending at the point of purchase. Pain of payment is the negative psychological impact experienced by consumers when they realize that a certain amount of financial resources has been lost. This study aims to provide a comprehensive review of the literature on pain of paying and digital finance. The study employs a literature review method, integrating findings from various academic sources to generate a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between pain of paying and digital finance. Pain of paying is a central behavioral mechanism that historically disciplined consumption, yet digital finance increasingly weakens this signal through decoupling, delayed settlement, and frictionless interfaces. While convenience and liquidity smoothing can benefit consumers, weakened salience may increase spending and regret in the absence of supportive budgeting tools and transparent designs.
