Abstract

Education plays an important role in shaping intellectual abilities and life skills through the teaching and learning process in schools. Learning motivation and learning interest are two key factors that significantly determine students' academic success. This study aims to analyze the effect of learning motivation on students' learning interest in Economics subject for Grade XI IPS 1 at SMA Negeri 1 Runjung Agung. The method used is a qualitative approach with a literature review technique based on six relevant scientific journal articles indexed in Google Scholar from 2023 to 2025. The analysis results consistently show that learning motivation has a positive and significant influence on students' learning interest in economics. Students with high learning motivation tend to be more active, focused, and demonstrate greater interest in participating in economics lessons. Conversely, low learning motivation leads to a decline in both learning interest and academic achievement. These findings imply that teachers need to create engaging, active, and enjoyable learning environments, as well as employ varied instructional methods, to optimally enhance students' motivation and learning interest.
