Abstract

This study aims to examine the teaching strategies and implementation of Islamic moderation values within the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum in school settings, emphasizing the urgency of moderation in shaping inclusive and tolerant student character. Core values such as tawassuth (moderation), tawazun (balance), tasamuh (tolerance), and i’tidal (justice) serve as essential pillars in addressing the increasing ideological and social challenges faced by students today. Employing a qualitative approach with library research as the primary method, this study analyzes scholarly literature, educational policies, and pedagogical practices related to the integration of Islamic moderation in schools. The findings reveal that effective teaching strategies include contextual approaches, dialogic learning models, and the integration of moderation values into both the content and methods of PAI instruction. Moreover, teachers play a vital role as value transmitters, while curriculum responsiveness to diversity significantly influences successful implementation. Challenges identified in the study include uneven understanding among educators, resistance from conservative cultural perspectives, and insufficient integration of moderation values in the national education framework. The study's impact lies in its contribution to the development of more inclusive educational policies and serves as a reference for educators and policymakers in designing pedagogical approaches that embed moderate Islamic values within the educational process
